The Michigan Industrial Technological Education Society, or better known as MITES, recently held its annual student competition. This competition encompasses a wide variety of categories and divisions within the categories. The Iosco RESA Tech Center’s Welding & Fabrication Program entered student projects into several categories. Those categories were: forging, tin knocking, large fixture/furniture, outdoor sporting goods, and wrought metal small and large projects.
Twenty-five projects were entered into these categories at the Regional level which was held May 3rd at Shepherd High School. Fourteen of these projects were selected to go to the State competition which was held on May 10th at the Ellison Place in Gaylord. Twelve of these projects placed in the top ten in their categories and divisions.
