Workforce Courses - IET & Pre-Apprenticeships

Overview:

Our workforce programs connect education with employment opportunities, helping you gain skills for high-demand industries in Northeast Michigan.

Integrated Education and Training (IET) combines adult education support with occupational training through our partnerships with Alpena Community College and MI Works! NE Consortium. Michigan Works! provides supportive services while you train for a new career.

Pre-Apprenticeship Programs prepare you for success in registered apprenticeship programs by building foundational knowledge and skills for specific industries.

Current Programs:

Kalitta Air Pre-Apprenticeship

Begin your journey toward Airframe and PowerPlant licensure:

  • Learn principles of flight, tool use, and electrical theory

  • Gain hands-on experience with small engines

  • Prepare for WorkKeys tests required for Kalitta Air Apprenticeship interviews

Residential Builders Permit

For experienced builders seeking licensure:

  • Support with reading and math skills for the licensing exam

  • Professional development for your construction portfolio

Nurse Assistant Certification

Support during ACC's 6-week training program:

  • Resume and cover letter development

  • Healthcare-related reading and math skills practice

  • Certification test preparation
